Romanticizing the Night Shift
Sleepless nights? Sign me up!
Those first two weeks home with Onyx were rough. My hormones were crashing, and every evening, as soon as it was time to go to bed, I knew I wasn’t going to sleep. I’d be waking up every couple of hours to feed, swaddle, change diapers, and cry. It felt like an endless cycle, and I hated it.
But one night, as I sat there in the dark, I had a thought: what if I stopped fighting the night shift? What if, instead of dreading it, I leaned into it? What if I made it something special, something I could actually enjoy? And that’s exactly what I did. I decided to romanticize the night shift, and it completely changed my experience.
